Topic:
Fast food has become more common in recent years. Some people think that it has a negative effect on lifestyles and diets.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
You should write at least 250 words.
Essay:
The fast-food industry has been flourishing and expanding its services across the globe. Some individuals maintain that this is an ominous trend and has a negative influence on human lifestyles and bodies. I agree with the idea that these types of foods are harmful to human health. However, I espouse fast-food chains in terms of providing meals around the clock, namely for overloaded workers.
To begin with, fast-food is one of the primary reasons for an increasing number of lifestyle-disease patients. This is because these types of meals contain much more sugar, artificial flavor, and preservatives compared to homemade food. Additionally, fast food provides a paucity of vital nutrients for human bodies, such as vitamins and minerals. To give you an example, a hamburger provides too much salt and fat while it does not incorporate vitamin B and C. Thus, there is no doubt that the current diet shift is harmful to human beings.
On the other hand, the fast-food franchise restaurants must be appreciated for enabling customers to lead flexible lifestyles. Indeed, a myriad of employees count on them while working on grueling projects. This is because they tend to be open twenty-four hours a day and serve meals within minutes. To illustrate this, it is common to see a couple of enervated middle-aged employees who finally make time for dinner at McDonald’s at midnight. For them, home-cooking is an anathema in a tight schedule and fast-food can be a temporary substitute.
To summarize, I believe that fast-food is not an ideal source of nutrients due to its lack of vitamins, minerals, etc. Nevertheless, it can be an option when individuals are extremely busy and cannot make time for cooking.
