Topic:

Computer games are very popular in all ages and nations. Parents think it has little educational value and more harmful effects. What is your opinion about this? Give example based on your own experience.

You should write at least 250 words.

Essay:

The pros and cons of playing computer games continue to be a controversial topic. Some people emphasize its adverse aspects and consider gaming as a waste of time. It is my opinion that computer games have an educational value and the harmful effects are minimal. I believe computer games benefit players in terms of developing problem-solving skills and building mutually beneficial relationships with friends.

Players can improve their abilities to overcome challenges through playing their favorite games. Modern computer games are designed to challenge players by providing levels of increasing difficulty based on the skills of the players. This is beneficial as players develop problem-solving abilities while analyzing obstacles and devising a range of strategies to overcome hurdles. For example, when I could not advance in my favorite puzzle game, I learned to search for useful information online that would help me on my quest. This research and learning process has assisted me in my academic career.

Furthermore, children learn to develop relationship with other gamers through playing games. They come to realize that when they support their friends who may be in need of help, the favor is often returned. In contrast, when selfish actions result in damage to otherd, this can also be reciprocated. To illustrate this, by trading Pokemons, I realized that if I offered the Pokemon that my friend was pursuing, chances of gaining rare Pokemons were greatly increased, while offering a mediocre Pokemon never led to a great deal. This formative experience has been an asset when I need to negotiate with business counterparts

To summarize, I believe playing game nurtures problem-solving skills and kindles an insight into mutually beneficial negotiation. Therefore, the benefits of playing games must not be undervalued.
